Important information about our VoIP services, billing, and usage policies

Reseller Relationship

IMPORTANT DISCLOSURE: Mtronika (Pty) Ltd is NOT a licensed telecommunications operator. We are an authorised reseller of VoIP services provided by Vox Telecom (Pty) Ltd (Reg. 1996/007014/07), a licensed ECNS/ECS provider regulated by ICASA. The underlying network, call routing, and billing infrastructure are owned and operated by Vox Telecom. Mtronika provides customer acquisition, account management, and first-level support only.

Service Overview

Our VoIP service provides voice communication over internet protocol, allowing you to make and receive calls using your internet connection. Service quality depends on your internet connectivity and network conditions provided by Vox Telecom's infrastructure.

Technical Requirements

Minimum broadband internet connection of 64kbps per concurrent call (recommended: 100kbps for optimal quality). Compatible devices include smartphones, tablets, and computers with the Vobi mobile app or SIP-compatible software. iOS 9.0+ and Android 5.0+ supported.

Consumer Protection & Privacy

This service complies with South African law: Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (cooling-off rights, fair marketing), POPIA (data protection), and ECTA (electronic contracts). You have the right to cancel within 5-7 business days (direct marketing/distance transactions), request data access/deletion, and lodge complaints with the National Consumer Commission or ICASA. Monthly Billing

All prices are VAT inclusive (15%). Monthly access fees are billed in advance; usage charges (Per-Minute Plan) are billed in arrears. A once-off setup fee of R169.00 (VAT incl.) applies to all new installations. No long-term contracts required—month-to-month billing only. Prices may be adjusted annually in line with the South African CPI (Consumer Price Index) with 30 days' written notice. You may cancel without penalty if you do not accept price increases. Payment due within 7 calendar days. Late payments incur interest at the prescribed rate under the National Credit Act (currently prime + 2% p.a.).

Payment Methods

We accept major credit cards, bank transfers, and electronic fund transfers. Payment is due within 7 days of invoice date. Late payments may result in service suspension.

Acceptable Use

Services are for legitimate voice communication purposes only. Prohibited uses include automated dialing, spam calling, or any illegal activities. We reserve the right to suspend accounts for policy violations.

CRITICAL Service Limitations

⚠️ EMERGENCY CALL WARNING: VoIP Services are NOT suitable for emergency calls to 112 (police/ambulance/fire), 10177, or similar services. You MUST maintain alternative means of contacting emergency services (e.g., mobile phone, landline). Mtronika and Vox Telecom expressly exclude all liability for inability to reach emergency services via VoIP, including death or injury.

Service quality depends entirely on YOUR internet connectivity (minimum 64kbps upload/download per call). Mtronika does NOT control or guarantee network availability, call quality, or reliability—these are provided by Vox Telecom. We are not liable for service interruptions due to internet outages, Eskom load-shedding, Vox network failures, or force majeure events. Maximum liability capped at fees paid in preceding 3 months.

Client Support

Support is available via WhatsApp, email, and phone during business hours. We provide technical assistance, account management, and billing inquiries through our help center.

Service Cancellation & Consumer Rights

Cooling-Off Period (CPA Section 16): If you purchased via direct marketing or online (distance transaction), you may cancel within 5-7 business days without reason or penalty. Refunds processed within 15 business days.

Standard Cancellation: Cancel anytime with 30 calendar days' written notice to support@mtronika.co.za. No cancellation fees apply. Unused portions of monthly access fees are non-refundable; outstanding usage charges remain payable immediately. Number portability subject to ICASA regulations and may incur charges.
